Scott Ames has been litigating wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower, breach of contract, protected leaves, unfair competition and trade secret claims, and wage and hour cases on behalf of employees for over 25 years. Mr. Ames has established a well-deserved reputation as one of the top labor and Employment lawyers in Southern California.
He was named among the Top 100 Attorneys in Southern California in 2012, 2013, and 2015 by SuperLawyers and Los Angeles Magazines, and recognized by SuperLawyers and Los Angeles Magazines in the field of Labor and Employment Law from 2007 to the present. In 2015 and 2017, Best Lawyers® named Mr. Ames "Lawyer of the Year in Employment Law-Individuals" in Southern California, and Best Lawyers® has recognized Mr. Ames in the field of Employment Law-Individuals from 2006 to the present.
Mr. Ames is also an Adjunct Professor at UCLA School of Law where he teaches employment law, and serves as an expert consultant and witness in employment law disputes. Mr. Ames has been a featured writer of CELA VOICE, the blog of the California Employment Lawyers Association, and he speaks frequently at legal programs throughout California on matters pertaining to employment law.
Mr. Ames is a long-standing member of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section, and a long-standing member of the California Employment Lawyers' Association. He is also active in his community, and has served on several committees and boards of non-profit organizations which seek to improve the lives of the disenfranchised or working poor.
